From Individual to Group Learning: YoChatGPT's Innovative Approach to AI-Enhanced Education
Collaborative Learning with Generative AI
Many thanks to Professor Paul LAM for his invitation to give this talk at his AI in Education Project at the Center for Learning Enhancement and Research at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
In presentation will show how to implement personalised and collaborative learning via an online anonymous chat room integrated with generative AI (GenAI)–"YoChatGPT!". "YoChatGPT!" addresses critical challenges in adopting AI for education by offering multiple-user and multiple-LLM functionality and teacher-guided interactive features, such as memory-enhanced rooms.
We will demonstrate how to enhance student engagement and conceptual understanding through GenAI pilot studies of personalised and self-regulated learning implemented through prompt engineering templates. We will also show how our platform's unique "context-aware rooms" feature encourages social constructivist learning scenarios, which enables students to co-create knowledge through shared experiences with LLMs, e.g., collaborative storytelling and team design thinking activities.
This presentation will include live demonstrations of the platform's key features and provide insights into the effectiveness of "YoChatGPT!" in fostering active learning pedagogies and improving critical thinking, problem-solving, and written communication skills. Lastly, we will address the challenges and opportunities of integrating this technology, such as managing group size.
We aim to inspire educators and researchers to explore the potential of GenAI in creating more engaging, personalised, and collaborative learning environments. Join us to discover how "YoChatGPT!" is paving the way for the future of AI-integrated education.
